Caro VT House is the heartfelt home of a couple in Vũng Tàu, realized after many years of hard work. They decided to create a living place that balances privacy and a harmonious connection with nature. The house is located on a plot of land facing the Northwest, in a small street where spontaneous, unplanned construction dominates the urban fabric. The challenge was to strictly comply with regulations on density and building height while optimizing the remaining usable area after setbacks.

The design solution by A+ Architects prioritizes the principle of “exterior – interior” zoning: The ground floor accommodates key shared spaces such as the living room, kitchen, dining area, garage, and foyer. This arrangement creates a privacy buffer while framing borrowed views from the garden to expand sightlines and enhance a sense of openness. The mezzanine and second floor focus on private areas: the master bedroom is placed in the quietest location, while the children’s room is oriented outward. The top floor is reserved for a worship room and rooftop vegetable garden with trellises at the rear, striking a balance between spiritual life and closeness to nature.

Flexible atrium voids and a strategically placed staircase ensure the interiors remain bright, airy, and well-connected. The entire house operates according to passive design principles, with the staircase and elevator core serving as buffers against the harsh western sun. A distinctive feature is the caro-patterned lattice, inspired by motifs from the owners’ old home, which conveys familiarity while becoming a defining architectural identity throughout the project. The design maximizes natural light and ventilation while optimizing performance through buffer zones, sun-shading systems, and a sloped roof suitable for solar panels.

Caro VT House stands as a testament to creating a contemporary Asian-style mini villa model – a solution tailored for urban homeowners with moderately sized plots. Our effort goes beyond crafting a personalized living space; it emphasizes privacy, energy efficiency through passive design, and a deep connection with nature. Caro VT House là tổ ấm tâm huyết của một cặp vợ chồng tại Vũng Tàu, sau nhiều năm nỗ lực làm việc đã quyết định kiến tạo một nơi vừa tận hưởng sự riêng tư, vừa kết nối hài hòa với thiên nhiên. Ngôi nhà được xây dựng trên mảnh đất hướng Tây Bắc, nằm trong một con phố nhỏ với bối cảnh dân cư xây dựng tự phát, thiếu định hướng kiến trúc. Thách thức đặt ra là vừa phải tuân thủ nghiêm ngặt quy định về mật độ, chiều cao công trình, vừa giải quyết bài toán diện tích sử dụng bị hạn chế sau khi trừ khoảng lùi.

Giải pháp thiết kế A+ Architects ưu tiên tổ chức không gian theo nguyên tắc “đối ngoại – đối nội”: tầng trệt dành cho các không gian chính như phòng khách, bếp ăn kết hợp với garage và sảnh, tạo lớp đệm ngăn chia riêng tư, đồng thời mượn khoảng sân vườn để mở rộng tầm nhìn và tăng cảm giác thoáng đãng. Các tầng lửng và 2 ưu tiên cho không gian riêng tư: phòng master đặt ở vị trí yên tĩnh nhất, trong khi phòng con bố trí bên ngoài. Trên cùng là phòng thờ và vườn rau, giàn leo phía sau, cân bằng đời sống tinh thần và sự gần gũi thiên nhiên.

Giải pháp thông tầng và bố trí thang linh hoạt giúp không gian luôn thoáng sáng và kết nối. Toàn bộ ngôi nhà vận hành theo kiến trúc thụ động, xử lý nắng hướng Tây bằng hệ cầu thang, thang máy. Đặc biệt là ngôn ngữ caro – lấy cảm hứng từ hoa văn ngôi nhà cũ của gia chủ, vừa gợi sự quen thuộc gần gũi, vừa trở thành dấu ấn nhận diện xuyên suốt cho công trình. Ngôi nhà tận dụng tối đa ánh sáng, thông gió, đồng thời tối ưu vận hành qua các khoảng đệm, hệ lam chắn nắng và mái nghiêng phù hợp lắp đặt năng lượng mặt trời.
